Weekly State of the TI Skills Economy | Town Halls

I am considering to do a live weekly State of the TI Economy address. And would record and publish it. Is this something you are all interested in?

I would go over what I did for the week, my thoughts, app updates, answer questions live, etc.

Townhall 10.21.2025

This is just a post, no live event a primer for this Saturday.

I started TI Skills Network (TSN) on August 3, 2025: https://tiskillsnetwork.quora.com/To-get-things-started-List-your-top-three-skills-or-services-you-can-provide-This-way-other-TIs-can-know-if-they-shoul?ch=10&oid=229431681&share=d3eca651&srid=3UT8yW&target_type=post. My motivation was simple, as a TI I am boxed out of the ability to consistently eat every day. And as an engineer I could not imagine that there were not other skilled TIs I could exchange services or goods with so we could all mutually live a fulfilling life.

Intended as a hub for collaboration among TIs for resources, TI Skills Network has 173 followers as of today. With up to two new followers a day.

On September 14, 2025 Quora deleted my account within a few minutes of announcing SupportMatch the peer-to-peer app to match remotely on a monthly basis with TIs. Inspired by a TSN follower who was interested in meeting real TIs.

Because of Quora’s decision of censoring TIs I created this forum as the new hub for the TI economy on September 18, 2025 and named it Charging The Future (CTF). A guarenteed online forum where you will not be shadow banned. This forum hosted on Discourse is new and understandably most TIs will be more comfortable remaining on Quora, however in the last 30 days CTF forum has had 1,700 views compared to TSN of 10,000 content views. Thus this forum will soon catch up to the same exposure for TIs to colloborate and prosper.

Soon after launching this forum, I created a formal landing page: chargingthefuture.com for the TI economy as well as created invite-only Signal groups for us to continue our conversations on the go and in real time.

Next up

Originally I was creating separate apps for each function (“product”) of the TI economy. Where each product would have a separate URL and login. But I have decided to migrate all products into one central location with a single login. This will be hosted at app.chargingthefuture.com. And the entire ecocosystem will be $1/month! Making it affordable for all TIs.

Each week I will do a townhall and provide a written synopsis. The townhall will be live and the recording provided. You can join in live and ask questions and/or listen to the recording at a later date.

Thank you for joining!

Live Town Hall Sometime this Saturday October 25, 2025

To join live:

  1. Download Signal Messenger: Speak Freely app

  2. Go to the link in my Quora bio and scroll until you see “Join Townhall” link. Click it for the first time and you will be requesting an invite to a TI only chat group. Within the group I will go live, audio only. In the future maybe I will do video. It is invite only to reduce likelihood of perps joining. Once in the group you can ask questions live or stay muted and listen.

Do the above *anytime* before the Townhall.

Questions, comments, concerns? Comment here or in the Signal chat group.

Key Updates and New Features

  1. App Redesign:

    • The app has transformed into a super app for the TI economy, allowing access via a single login.
  2. Mini-appss, in the TI economy super:

    • SupportMatch: Paired connections for accountability and emotional support, emphasizing responsible interactions.

  • Encouragement for feedback on new features and engagement tools to improve community trust and interaction.

Access the TI economy at app.chargingthefuture.com. Registration requires an invite code, which can be obtained through direct messaging.

Community Importance

The meeting highlighted the significant number of self-reported TIs, emphasizing unity for resource sharing among members, which could represent a collective strength akin to a small nation.

All right, hello, everyone. Today was the first TI economy town hall meeting I hosted. I originally scheduled it for today, but I didn’t provide a specific time, as the Specterati run interference on everything. And so I decided to instead be online all day taking questions and having conversations. And if anyone comes online, I can have live interaction with them. I did have some people who were interested in joining live, but I’m not sure if they missed being able to join or not. Therefore I wasn’t anyone to engage with anyone live today, but for the rest of the night until I fall asleep, I’ll be online and available to interact with anybody if they want to live.

To join the townhall, remember, you need to download the Signal chat app at Signal.org. You download the app. And then if you go to my link in my bio, specifically my Quora bio, which is www.sleek.bio/farah, you will find the Signal group links. Find the link named townhall and click that link to join the chat. All the Signal chats are invite-only. This is a way to prevent perps from joining, or should I say filter out as many perps as possible. There’s never a 100% guarantee, but it just makes it much easier to manage. And so if for some reason it’s been more than 24 hours and you I haven’t been approved to join the chat group, just let me know by sending me a DM on Quora or on Discourse, anywhere you can reach me, just let me know and then I’ll approve it. And so once again, you download the Signal app, you click the link to request an invite to the chat group. And then once I approve it, which just takes like a second, you’re basically in. And what will happen is I will go live directly in the Signal app. One of the things I realized today was that if I go live in that chat group, I think every single person’s phone is going to ring. I don’t know if that’s going to be annoying for everybody. Because that specific chat group I linked to is also like the general chat where everyone just hangs out. Maybe I should split it up so I do not spam everyone with alerts. I’ll start thinking that over.

The reason why I didn’t choose to go live on Facebook or YouTube or anything is just that a lot of perps work at all these different companies. And so they could easily just shadow ban or block or just take down the live while I’m doing it and generally disrupt it. With Signal, it’s less centralized. I plan on doing the lives ad hoc. But I’m definitely willing to commit to a specific day of the week or time if that works for everybody. But remember, if I commit to something like that, we run a chance of perps interrupting and then we never have a meeting that’s on time or at all. Even today, because I had announced a couple of days ago that I was going to do the townhall, perps the whole day were purposely started a bunch of fights and distractions. So if they know a specific time, then we’re definitely not going to be on time for any of these types of meetings. Something to think about.

All that administrative stuff aside, I don’t necessarily have an agenda. It’s really just meant to be a place or a time for anyone to ask questions in real time and get some interaction. What I will talk about is, in general, the app. The redesigned app went live yesterday. Originally I released only Support Match as an individual app. And for each type of feature or product that the TI community needed, I’d basically spin up a new app for it, and that was the plan. But then I realized that that’s not necessary. I might as well just have one super app for the entire TI economy. And so that’s why I went through the redesign. A month ago I released Support Match. Then I took it down. And now Support Match is redesigned inside of this entire new app. So you just have one login to access the entire TI economy. There are also three new services in there. The first one is Support Match. You get paired with another TI, and you can use the pairing however you would like. Keep in mind, it is not a dating website. So when you’re on the platform, as a default, you shouldn’t engage in that type of behavior. Everything needs to be a double opt-in for stuff like that. The app is more so you can use it as an accountability partner, like if you have specific goals that you want to accomplish. Or it can be for emotional support. I can also imagine you could use it for networking or business opportunities as well. Because again, it is a TI economy. The whole goal is to cooperate jointly so we can get the resources we need.

The other product that we have is Lighthouse. Like Airbnb for TIs. Anyone who is unhoused and looking for a room, house, apartment rental, or looking to live in a gated community, you now have the opportunity to do that. As it stands now, we do have one, I don’t want to say gated community, but it’s one TI who owns a large amount of land that is willing to house TIs. And this first community is where I’m going to be going to as well as another TI. Things are moving in a positive direction and happening pretty fast, which is very exciting.

The other feature, which I literally launched today, is called SocketRelay. The inspiration for SocketRelay came from my me staying in a drop-in center, and one of the Specterati stole my jacket. And so I posted that in the group chat, and immediately another TI mailed me one coat and one jacket, which is amazing. Last year, the Speceterati stole all my clothes, including my underwear. And so I am left with just the clothes I had on. Since then, I haven’t re-upped on a whole bunch of stuff, because as I read all over Quora, perps continue to steal all your stuff. Our fellow TI mailed me the jacket and coat within a week, which is just amazing. So prior to that happening, I did start a TI Craigslist, so to speak, basically on Discourse. What I did was I created a tag on Discourse that’s called Craigslist, and it basically gives the ability for people to trade between each other. And so it hasn’t really been that active, but I mean, it’s only been one month for starters, so it’s not like I’m expecting such explosive growth. And of course in the TI community, trust is a big thing and it’s something that takes time. And so it’s not necessarily a failure by any means, but since the group chat is very intimate, it provides a better way for people to connect instantly.

And I was thinking how can I kind of do a simpler version of Craigslist to match the energy of the group chat. And so that’s why I added the new feature today, SocketRelay. It allows an individual in 140 characters or less to state what they need, and someone can click a button instantly say, hey, I got what you need and send it to you. It is on the transactional side of things, but I think that having that specific feature be super transactional, gives the ability for people to build trust faster. And so I’m definitely looking for feedback on it, please let me know.

Lastly, there is Sleep Stories, which was released earlier in the month. It’s a hobby of mine to practice meditation. And I heard that Calm Sleep Stories is something that’s super popular. And I like to listen to stuff to fall asleep. Creating custom stories that relate to our daily lives would be very helpful. And so I created psyop-free Sleep Stories for you all.

Go to app.chargingthefuture.com to access the TI economy. Remember that it is invite-only, but it only takes a moment. What you do is click to register, and it takes less than a minute. Once you’re signed up, it’s going to ask for an invite code. DM me on any platform, whether it’s Discourse, Quora, or Signal for the code. I’ll give you the code, you’ll then be able to register immediately.

You don’t have to register under your real identity if you don’t want to. But keep in mind, there are some services that will expose it. For example, if you’re looking for housing, you will eventually reveal your identity to individuals. But I don’t ask for any of that information. I don’t even ask for your cell phone. The whole goal is to build a platform that is trusted, that TIs can go to, that is PsyOp-free, and Perp-free. I’ve said this multiple times on Quora, but there was another TI that shared that there were about 2 million self-reports of targeted individuals to the United Nations. My guess is that number is cumulative.

Imagine if there are 2 million people who self-reported, and I’m a person who hasn’t self-reported. This means there’s definitely way more than just those individuals. And so looking at different crime rates, they usually say that crimes are about 50% under-reported. If there are 2 million people who are saying that they’re targeted individuals, you can imagine that there are at least 2 million additional. And so with that, that’s the size of a small nation state. And so for us to come together would mean that we’d be able to get the resources that we need amongst each other.

I really appreciate all the individuals who have joined so far. And at any time, if you have any questions, you can send me a message on Signal, you can also reach me on Quora and Discourse. Thank you again for joining the TownHall, or should I say listening to this recording of the Town Hall. And I hope that you’ll be able to join live at some point in the future.

Copy-Edited Transcript of Audio

Welcome to the Townhall audio recap. I go live at least once a week. Last week, I used Signal, but it was a clunky experience. Today, I went live a few times on Twitch, which went pretty well. However, when live-streaming on mobile, you can’t multitask, which was an odd experience. Some people joined, but they don’t seem to be followers, and no one interacted in the chat. It’s unclear if the attendees were Targeted Individuals, perpetrators, or just random viewers.

The purpose of this recording is to provide a brief recap of the live. I will post the transcript of this recording on the blog post, which also contains a similar recap. The reason for this audio recording is to offer varied ways to get updates about the TI economy.

During the Townhall, I mentioned there were a few major updates compared to last week. The intention of the Town Hall is to allow live interaction with me, providing better social proof. This helps demonstrate that I am a genuine targeted individual, not a perpetrator, which supports community building and access to necessary resources.

This week, there are three major updates. I always make small tweaks; for example, I added dark mode to the app, but those are just minor stylistic changes. Today’s Townhall focused only on the major updates.

Last week, I announced the creation of the TI economy super app containing many apps in one place for easier access to different resources. This week I added a page (not necessarily a mini-app) listing all the Signal chat groups in a single page. Now, you can just go to one link that has all the resources and chat groups reducing confusion on what link can get you what you need or want.

The second major change is the launch of a new mini-app called Directory. Historically, all disenfranchised groups want a directory. Many TIs would like a directory to connect with other TIs, exchange resources, and goods. The Directory has a clean interface. When you create a profile, you can choose to make some information publicly available. This creates a shareable link to your directory profile, which provides a preview of your profile. You can post this link in your Quora bio or share it in social media posts, allowing others to see a part of your profile. This is useful because the app is invite-only, and you must be logged in to see most of the content. By having a shareable link with selective information, it helps potential new members preview the app before deciding to join. While increasing your exposure to more TIs that you can build a meaningful relationship with.

The last major update is the mini-app called SocketRelay, which I announced last week. It allows you to quickly request a resource in 140 characters. Inspired by an incident where a perp stolen my winter jacket and I vented about the experience in the Signal chat group. A TI immediately helped me by sending a coat and a jacket after mine was stolen. I wanted to recreate that supportive interaction in a more public setting. Now, when you create a request in SocketRelay, and opt to make it public, generating a shareable link. This link can be posted on Facebook, other social media, or Quora, expanding the reach for getting the resources you need. This public feature is optional.

These are the three major changes since last week’s Town Hall. If you have any questions, you can leave them on Quora, send a message on Signal, or reply directly within the blog post on the Town Square forum.

The link to the app is app.chargingthefuture.com, where you can access everything. I hope you can join future live streams. I try to accommodate as many time zones as possible, which is why I go online throughout the entire day. For the foreseeable future, I’ll stick to streaming on Twitch. My Twitch handle is the1690s (https://www.twitch.tv/the1690s), chosen because of a historical reference to the Specterati from the year 1690. It doesn’t have any specific significance beyond that; it was just a quick choice for a handle.

Hopefully, the new features are valuable to you, and I am always open to feedback on what features you want or any new mini-apps you would like to see. Just let me know.

Town Hall Recap 11.8.25

Today is November 8th, and it’s the day of the all-day town hall. Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to livestream as much as I would have liked. If you’re interested in attending live, please let me know your preferred time and your timezone. This will help me schedule the livestream when most people are available. Since the event lasts all day, any time you choose will work.

As for this week’s recap, the last two town halls focused on new features. This past week, I added several features, but they are not yet ready for use. The main change from last week is that I updated our hosting infrastructure to reduce costs. This adjustment will help keep the app affordable for both everyone.

Next week, I hope to announce the new features once they are fully tested and ready for use. That’s all for this week’s update. I changed the hosting infrastructure to lower the costs, ensuring the app remains affordable.

Please let me know what times work best for you for next Saturday’s town hall. This will allow me to better interact with TIs during the livestream. See you next week.

Town Hall Recap 11.22.25

Today’s Town Hall was janky! Here is the replay:

TI Economy Townhall - the1690s on Twitch

I have not figured out how to correctly do a screen share broadcast on Twitch. I will eventually get there. It is an hour long, going through the entire app. I will do 30-second or less videos for each feature over time.

Highlights from today’s conversation:

New mini-apps (features) added:

  • TrustTransport - Uber but for TIs

  • MechanicMatch - find a TI mechanic to avoid car sabotage, theft or overpricing

  • LostMail - let’s collectively share information about our tampered mail

Future mini-apps in the works:

  • Research - aggregating TI knowledge in one collaborative space

  • GentlePulse - meditation app

Town Halls are every Saturday, where I go online on Twitch on and off to accommodate as many TIs globally. If you have a preferred time you would like to attend, please let me know and I will try to go live then. It is an opportunity for the community to ask questions live or get assistance with using the app.

Each Saturday, I go online at various times to accommodate TIs globally. During the Town Hall, I discussed a new feature, Workforce Recruiter.

Workforce Recuriter pulls in data from the Directory app and charts the distribution of skills across the globe. Use it to see where you can find new customers or skill up so you can trade skills in our peer-to-peer market.

And here is a list of all services in the TI economy: Services of the TI economy.
